A little bit about us, my husband and I started our Hobby Farm with a small rabbitry of meat rabbits. We intended on breeding Californians and New Zealand's together to get a fast growing healthy hybrid for meat production. But in our search to find good rabbits and rabbit supplies for this venture, we came across a little rabbit. We got her and a hutch for 20 dollars and that started us down the path of Netherland Dwarfs. LOL We still are keeping our rabbitry small, we only have 4 does and 2 bucks in our CAL's and 4 bucks and 11 does in our ND's OK so my ND's are getting a bit out of hand. So we have decided to get rid of most of our NZ's and keep the ND's and Cal's. I love these little guys, and have been bitten by the dwarf bug.
That started us down the road for a Hobby Farm, but they weren't enough I had to have more little ones around me. So we got 3 hens and 1 rooster and got 4 little chicks out of them, then I thought to eat down our grass we would need some goats and sheep. So we got a little dwarf goat (yep there goes that small thing again, I love small animals.) and we got a lamb. We sold the lamb and dwarf goat, and this spring we got two more dwarf goats, late fall we will sell the two dwarf goats and next spring we will get some more. That way we don't need to feed them over the winter months and we still get the benefits of having weed and grass eaters around when we need them. So if your on the look out for some nice goats just ask us in the fall, we will have two up for sale for 50 dollars each. Well now you know more of my insanity as my husband calls it, want to join in the fun?
